In 1960, PT Transistor Radio Manufacturing entered into a technical cooperation agreement with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (currently –Panasonic Corporation), one of the world’s global leaders in electronics and electrical goods.
The Asian Games IV held in Jakarta in 1962 helped to expand the business of Gobel. To make the sports even successful, the company received an order to produce 10.000 television sets, so that Indonesians could enjoy their country’s hosting of the Asian Games IV. Since 1970 Gobel has been the Indonesian joint venture partner with Matsushita.
In 1994, PT Gobel International was established as an entity to consolidate business activities and became the holding company of Gobel Group. In 2020, Panasonic Corporation and Gobel Group celebrate the Panasonic-Gobel’s 60 years jubilee.
Throughout the decades, Gobel Group has prospered together with the country’s economic growth and development. Today, we are one of the largest business group in Indonesia with various business activities, including Electronics, Chemicals, Transportation & Logistics, Food, Property, and Advertising.
