Tjawang

Inspired by the spirit of Nationalism to prepare communication device for a brand new country, Indonesia Drs. H. Thayeb Mohammad Gobel established PT Transistor Radio Mfg., which pioneered radio transistor manufacturing called Tjawang.

The Signing of

Technical Cooperation Agreement between PT Transistor Radio Mfg. and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (MEI Co., Ltd.).

The First Colorless Television

Based on the Technical Cooperation Agreement, PT Transistor Radio Mfg. Produced the first colorless television in Indonesia, so that Indonesian’s able to watch the Asian Games IV –1962 Jakarta.

The First Product

The first product of colorless television was given to the Indonesian first lady Mrs. Fatmawati Soekarno.

Bemo

The Tjawang factory also assembled BEMO 3-wheeled vehicles for public transportation, and also tractors to support agricultural mechanization.

PT National Gobel

The signing of Joint Venture Company between Thayeb Gobel and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (MEI Co., Ltd.) to established PT National Gobel (PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia).

Establishing of Supporting Company

Including PT Met Gobel and PT Gobel Dharma Nusantara (trading), PT Gobel Dharma Karya Yasa (logistic), PT Gobel Dharma Cipta Yasa (services) and PT Gobel Dharma Sarana Karya (catering).

Matsushita Gobel Education Foundation

Establishing Matsushita Gobel Education Foundation. Its mission was to increase the Indonesian’s intelligent and prosperity.

Kun Santo Zuikoscho Awards

Thayeb Gobel received Bintang “Third Class Order of the Sacred Heritage”(“Kun Santo Zuikoscho”), for his services in strengthening Indonesian-Japanese relations in the economic field.

PT Nusantara Parkerizing

Establishing PT Nusantara Parkerizing (metal surface treatment) a Joint Venture Company with Nihon Parkerizing Co., Ltd.
